Week 4 EOC: There's an app for that

Everyone gets stressed out at some point in their day. These days they have the adult coloring book. It has a bunch of sayings in it that you can color depending on the way you’re feeling. As adults we don’t always want to have markers or colored pencils around. So I want to make an app that has the same concept but you won’t need the colored pencils or markers. In this app it comes with unlimited pages to color and if you mess up that’s ok you can just start over. And if you have an idea for a page to color you can make your own page in the app. You have a choice of whatever colors you want. Also you can send them to whomever or post them to Facebook. This is a great app idea because people who have anxiety, depression, etc. can have something to calm them down without an incident. This also wouldn’t be for kids because if you have kids they can get a lot more “colorful” words from this app. So that’s the app idea I had was the adult coloring book in an app form.

Week 3 EOC: my demographics

This how a millennial relates to me.  “The Millennial market makes up almost thirty percent of the adult population in the United States.” Page 137. especially Millennial consumers—are more reliant on digital technologies, and firms that fail to react to this trend risk losing a rapidly growing group of m-commerce customers.” This relates to me because everyone has a lab top, cell phone, or some kind of device to keep them connected. Page 255. “With technology changing rapidly, there are always new trends developing in both retail and in channel management. Mobile commerce is continuing to be the avenue with the largest growth in both retail and channel decision making, in part because of its more than $20 billion annual revenue.” this relates to me because I use online shopping a lot when im lazy and don’t want to go out.

Week 3 EOC: Making money for good

The for profit company I found was dell. “The American Red Cross and Dell today launched a new Digital Operations Center, the first social media-based operation devoted to humanitarian relief, demonstrating the growing importance of social media in emergency situations. The Red Cross also announced a Digital Volunteer program to help respond to questions from and provide information to the public during disasters.” http://www.redcross.org/news/press-release/The-American-Red-Cross-and-Dell-Launch-First-Of-Its-Kind-Social-Media-Digital-Operations-Center-for-Humanitarian-Relief.For more than a decade, Dell and the American Red Cross have worked tighter to provide Americans affected by disaster with critical resources, including information technology, support services and direct funding for disaster-relief activities through corporate giving and employee giving and volunteerism. Dell provided the Red Cross with the unique consulting expertise, technology solutions and funding to architect and build the new Digital Operations Center and design the Digital Volunteer program.” http://www.redcross.org/ADGP/Dell. “he American Red Cross and Dell are joining forces to show how social media and social data can help solve a broad range of humanitarian issues with the opening of a Digital Operations Center in San Jose, California and a new project to use social data to engage Red Cross blood donors. The Red Cross, in partnership with Dell, is opening its third Digital Operations Center in San Jose, which will continue to build on the organization’s ability to connect with people during disasters. The Red Cross launched its first national Digital Operations Center in Washington, D.C., with Dell in March 2012. The other is in Dallas and recently celebrated its one-year anniversary. This newest center provides another location for additional social monitoring—particularly during large regional disasters. The Red Cross supplies nearly 40 percent of the nation’s blood supply and maintaining a steady supply of donors is vital to supplying the needs of blood recipients nationwide. In addition to the new Digital Operations Center, a new Dell grant and Dell Digital Business Services will help the Red Cross optimize their social presence to attract new blood donors, encourage more blood drives and help existing blood donors to expand their relationship with the Red Cross.” http://www.redcross.org/news/press-release/American-Red-Cross-and-Dell-Expand-Partnership.

Week 2: Boston Consulting Group

The first console I choose was the PS4. "The success of the PS4 began when Sony revealed the console's retail price at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in June 2013. The PS4 had an initial price of $399, much cheaper than the initial price of $499 for a 20GB PS3 or $599 for a 60GB PS3 model. Microsoft announced the Xbox One would retail for $499 at a press event the day prior to E3. The higher price for the Xbox One was due to the bundled Kinect, which Microsoft no longer includes as part of the standard Xbox One model." http://www.ibtimes.com/ps4-vs-xbox-one-sony-has-sold-302-million-playstation-4-consoles-nearly-double-2199807. This was a cash cow because they made so much money and still making more till today.
The next console I chose was the Xbox. “Microsoft has just announced its fourth quarter and full-year fiscal results for the period ended on June 30, and the numbers showed some positive sales growth for the Entertainment and Devices division, which houses the Xbox business. For the fourth quarter, sales grew by 20 percent, totaling $1.78 billion and for the year, revenues climbed from $8.92 billion to $9.59 billion. While sales were up, profits were actually down for both the fourth quarter and the fiscal year. Q4 saw a net loss of $263 million (as compared with a net income of $11 million a year earlier). On the bright side, the full year finished in the black with total income of $364 million (down from $1.26 billion a year ago).” http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2012-07-19-xbox-completes-another-profitable-year-as-xbox-live-grows-15-percent This is a star because it has generated so much money and still is to this day.
The last console I have chosen is Xbox one.  “It may all seem like doom and gloom for the machine and its makers, but look beyond the heavy cash losses and you’ll find that actual sales of Xbox One consoles have been pretty sweet. On the whole, Redmond shifted a sizeable 11.7 million consoles during the recently ended fiscal year, which is a solid improvement on the 9.8 million chalked up the year prior. On the whole, revenue came in at $1.7 billion which is hardly a figure to be sneezed at.” http://www.modernreaders.com/cash-cow-fat-chance-xbox-one-costs-microsoft-400-million/9249/ed-jones. This is a cash cow because it has generated so much money and still is.

Week 1 EOC: great customer service

"The societal marketing orientation extends the marketing concept by acknowledging that some products that customers want may not really be in their best interests or the best interests of society as a whole”. Page 6. no matter what you do the costumer may like the product but others won’t. so they have to with the people who want it more. no matter what the costumer is always right. without them the product can either succeed or fail.

Week 1 EOC: My voice

If you haven’t met me before my name is Kimberly Inman, and I’m a professional photographer. Before I came to the AI I have never picked up a DSLR camera. I did a verity of things like being a black jack dealing, actress, and model. Tried for other movie roles and it just never worked out till I was at movie shoot for fast and the furious 7 I started thinking. I hated the long days, the feeling of being awkward on camera, and just feeling uncomfortable not being myself so I decided to go to the art institute. I wanted to know everything I could about the process of making a great photograph. I already knew what it took to be a model/actress but had no idea what it would be like to be the photographer. It was scary and confusing at first but as time went on I became more comfortable with my camera and my skills as photographer. Also I became more comfortable with myself as a person. Photography can be one way to express my feelings. I have learned that it takes a lot to become a great photographer. So for the last year in a half has been nothing but photography and I can’t wait to see where my career takes me.
